A lot of times the next of kin has no idea that they inherited a piece of the property that their elders owned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, when the county discovers that no probate has been filed for the original owner, and the property has gone into tax delinquency, they will move down the family tree to try to recoup the taxes from the remaining owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many family members tell us, &#8220;I have nothing to do with that property.&#8221; And while that may be true in terms of a relationship with the property, since no probate was filed, there is likely no other place for the property to go to other than the next of kin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And in cases like this, it usually doesn&#8217;t just get passed down to one person, it gets passed down to 3, or 6, or 9, or 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some people don&#8217;t even know the family members listed on these lawsuits with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They just want to be removed from the situation. But a lot of our clients don&#8217;t want to hire a lawyer for a problem they never caused in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s why we make offers to co-owners of properties in tax lawsuits to buy they out of tax lawsuits they don&#8217;t want to be in anymore.
