When the taxes go unpaid long enough, the suit is filed and the county researches the family tree to name the living heirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Johnson County, taxes run through the Johnson County Tax Assessor-Collector (2 N. Mill St., Cleburne, TX 76033; 817-558-0122), property values are set by the Central Appraisal District of Johnson County, and the case is on record with the Johnson County District Clerk. All of it is public and can be confirmed before you make any decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From there, people generally resolve the lawsuit with an attorney, look into a payment arrangement, or sell their portion, which takes them out of the lawsuit without needing everyone else to agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A couple of questions we hear a lot in Johnson County:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>A sibling lives on the property and won&#8217;t pay or move.
