You have no idea what it looks like or where exactly it is, and now there may be taxes owed on it. The good news is that you can sell your interest in it without ever seeing the place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What you own is a documented share of a specific property, identified by its legal description and county records, not by your personal familiarity with it. The location, condition, and value can all be researched from public records, appraisal and tax data, and maps, and a buyer who works with this kind of property does that homework as a matter of routine. You don&#8217;t have to become an expert on land you never wanted or walk the property to sell your share of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the path is straightforward: your interest is confirmed through the ownership records, the property is assessed from the available data, and your share is sold and closed, often entirely remotely. You can turn an unfamiliar, possibly tax-burdened inheritance into cash and get your name off any lawsuit, all without leaving home or setting foot on land you&#8217;ve never seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A couple of quick questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>How can I sell something when I don&#8217;t even know where it is?<\/em> The property is identified in county records by its legal description, so it can be located and evaluated from those records. You don&#8217;t need to have visited it for the sale to proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>What if I have no idea what it&#8217;s worth?<\/em> That&#8217;s normal for inherited land.
