Dozens of cousins, second cousins, relatives you&#8217;ve never heard of, branches of the family scattered across the country. When you try to picture sorting it out, your head spins. How could anything ever get resolved when there are so many people involved that no one can even produce a full list?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s overwhelming to look at, but here&#8217;s what cuts through it: the size of the crowd doesn&#8217;t change what you need to do. You are not responsible for organizing all those people, accounting for every heir, or getting a giant group to agree on anything. That would be nearly impossible, and thankfully it&#8217;s not your job. Your job, if you want out, is limited to one small thing: your own share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s the key that makes a hopeless-looking situation manageable. Because you only deal with your own piece, it doesn&#8217;t matter whether there are five heirs or fifty. You don&#8217;t have to find them, count them, or convince them. You sell the interest that passed to you, your name comes off the lawsuit, and all those other heirs and their shares are simply not your concern.
