Maybe the house has been empty for years. The roof is going, it’s full of an old relative’s belongings, the yard’s a jungle, or the land has been sitting neglected. When you picture selling a property, you picture fixing it up first, cleaning it out, making repairs, getting it presentable, and you have neither the money nor the desire to pour all that into a place you never wanted. So it feels like you’re stuck with it by default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’re not, and here’s why. The idea that a property has to be cleaned up and repaired before it can be sold applies to listing a home the traditional way, on the open market, for a retail buyer.
